Lilywhite is een rock- en indieband uit Zwolle.
Lilywhite werd in 2019 opgericht door Dennes Frikken. Op zijn debuutalbum ‘Pale Face’, dat in 2021 uitkwam, ging Dennes terug naar zijn verleden waarin hij te maken kreeg met een traumatische gebeurtenis. In zijn vrije tijd schreef hij talloze liedjes over liefde, leven en verlies. Deze muziek is het resultaat van die persoonlijke reis door zijn leven op het Nederlandse platteland.
De muziek van Lilywhite kan omschreven worden als new wave, experimenteel, een vleugje post-punk met veel variatie in de nummers. Lofi-nummers worden afgewisseld met meer bombastische nummers, Lilywhite is spannend en valt daardoor niet echt in een hokje te plaatsen.
De band is muzikaal geïnspireerd door zowel Radiohead, Interpol, DEUS als ook door singer songwriter muziek van Other Lives, Nick Drake en Keaton Henson.

Mpodia ; ‘Het debuutalbum is zeker een aanwinst voor de Nederlandse popmuziek en een belofte voor de toekomst. Het album is donkergrijs in de klank en toch aanstekelijk. Met het rustige ‘Serenity’, ‘Stay’ en het instrumentale ‘Grainfields’, met vogeltjes, in combinatie met ‘Change’ weet men de pareltjes van het album te brengen. Of de drums van The End die door je speakers dendert als een paard in galop.’
Bandleden
De huidige bandleden naast Dennes, zijn Pim Klompenmaker, Yde Blaauw en Nathan Barnacle. Pim speelt tevens in de band The Gravel Pit Groove Band en diverse andere leuke projecten. Nathan (Spanje) speelde in Spanje en kwam naar Nederland om vervolgens in de Groningse/ Spaanse / Duitse band Van Marban te spelen. Yde speelde met Duroc in het voorprogramma van ‘Blood Red Shoes’.
Nieuwe plaat 2024
Lilywhite heeft in de periode 2023 en 2024 in totaal 17 nieuwe tracks opgenomen. De tracks worden in de loop van 2024 in delen uitgebracht via streamingdiensten en vinyl. Volg onze social kanalen voor updates over de releases van de nieuwe songs.

Lilywhite was founded in 2019 by Dennes Frikken. On his debut album ‘Pale Face’, which was released in 2021, Dennes went back to his past in which he had to deal with a traumatic event. In his spare time he wrote countless songs about love, life and loss. This music is the result of that personal journey through his life in Dutch rural area.
Lilywhite’s music can be described as new wave, experimental, a touch of post-punk with a lot of variety in the songs. Lo-fi songs alternate with more bombastic songs, Lilywhite is exciting and therefore cannot really be pigeonholed.
The Band is musically inspired by the music of Radiohead, Interpol, DEUS but also by singer songwriter music from Other Lives, Nick Drake and Keaton Henson.

Bandmembers
The actual bandmembers beside founder Dennes are Pim Klompenmaker, Nathan Barnacle and Yde Blaauw. Pim also plays in the band The Gravel Pit Groove Band and several other nice projects. Nathan played in several bands in Spain and came to Holland to play in the Groninger band Van Marban. Yde played also in different bands, with Duroc he opened the band ‘ Blood Red Shoes’.
New album 2024
Lilywhite recorded a total of 17 new songs between 2023 and 2024. The songs will be released by 3 EP’s via streaming services and vinyl over the course of 2024. Follow our social channels for updates on the releases of the new songs.
